Is red chilli powder the same as lal mirch powder?

Yes. Lal mirch is the Hindi name for red chilli, so red chilli powder and lal mirch powder are the same spice.

Does it contain added colour or preservatives?

No. Our red chilli powder is just ground red chillies, with no added colour and no preservatives. Its colour comes from the chillies themselves.

How hot is it?

It rates 4 out of 5 on our heat scale: noticeably hot. For a dish that serves four, start with about half a teaspoon and add more to taste.
